10 Feb: Headed to Plaza Sing for lunch..then headed to cat high. And the shocker of it all: I gt L1R5: 6pts!! Gosh...oh man this was kinda hard to believe, considering that cat high did very poorly this year (i guess we're gonna be Band3 liao) and there were abt 40 pupils only who gt 6 A1s or more. and my class is 4-6 lah...nt even triple science or higher chinese..ahahas. Was kinda relief that it turned out well...ya so stayin in NJ le. Then gt Gedeon gt 10 A1s, Yun Le gt 9A1s..Yingjie and Choon Boon and Yen Shan and Furen gt 8A1s..so pro...but ya last yr they wont even announce 8 A1s lor...still rmb the fantastic results of 2004...

Hmms then all debaters frm Nj staying in NJ! Tads cool! And i kinda felt silly for wanting to consider joining the likes of RJ, HCI and Vj..hehe =p

In any case we did 2 cases in a week abt media giving love a bad name and child labour. And i have START UP SINGAPORE proposal too. =p

The day of JGs Round 1 ..wad a crucial rnd for all schools considering that it represents S'pore's most prestigious debate comp. for sec schs. And its NJip vs. Cat High..hmms

So Kristiano went on to get BEST SPEAKER which he truly deserved and Bryan Chan did a fantastic job which was truly best speaker quality. Im damn proud of Cat High lah..their opp case almost flawless and the team literally improved by a lot since last yr's JGs. Despite the more decent case launched by the NJ ips, I guess it was too imba in the end. 4 main flaws: lack of egs, lack of sufficient depth in case, lack of justification and lack of depth of rebuttals. So GONG JIAO went on to win the first rnd which was frnkly speaking the easiest fixture available. And given that both teams didnt win the first rnd last time rnd at JGs, I guess its the perfect start after all...

Hmms which kinda reminds me...westwood sec has gotta be the most isolated school ever. In the end Jasmine and Margaret and I wasted much time (and money, sorry guys=x) on takin countless buses to gt to our destination. Must look up bus guide nxt time le..hahas. Glad did we made it on time eventually though =D

Its one of those days when things jus didnt go our way all along. Recalling the debates at SRJC seems like a total nightmare. Or like a fairytale gone completely wrong. Nonetheless, we'll take it in our stride. Failures only make us stronger =)

We had tough draws to begin with, against the likes of HCI, ACJC and IJTP, with all fielding vastly experienced debaters like Charmaine, Leigh-Anne, Christine, Alessa, Val Goh (hmms seems like i've named 3 IJTP debaters!).

I think Lady Luck wasnt by our side and this whole experience kinda sucks at the end of the day. I guess we didnt quite agree with the adjudication but having said that, the results are nt everything. We did our best our best against those overwhelming odds, and NJ debaters sure did us proud with their cases and confidence. The team roxx! Yeps. That's the potential threat which other teams will have to contend with. Msg sent! =D

Cat high and VJ too suffered under the clutches of WSDC. Oh man!!! Cldnt quite believe that these 2 potential finalist teams had to contend with the ultimate powerhouse of debates. Oh well...at least Cat High picked up 2 wins against ACJC and CJ. Great job guys! *thumbs up* Wish u guys luck at JGs!!!

Having said that, i guess many life lessons were learned today =)
